ISIT 2027 plans to hold in-person workshops on Sunday, June 27, 2027. Workshops provide an informal and interactive forum for participants to meet and discuss emerging research topics. The ISIT 2027 Workshop co-chairs particularly encourage proposals that cut across disciplines, with co-organizers from fields adjacent to information theory, as well as workshops at the forefront of technology with industrial applications. Proposals focused on establishing or strengthening new research themes in information theory, quantum computing, cryptography, and AI are especially encouraged.

Workshop Format and Proposal Guidelines
ISIT 2027 has the capacity to accommodate up to six workshops; only the strongest proposals will be chosen. Half-day workshops (4 hours) remain the preferred format, though a limited number of full-day workshops and full-day tutorial-plus-workshop joint proposals will also be considered, provided they demonstrate exceptional scientific quality, broad appeal, and strategic value for the ISIT community.
The workshop's format is determined by their organizers, who are encouraged to leave ample time to foster participant interaction. Workshops may include a mix of regular papers, invited presentations, keynotes, panels, poster sessions, open problem sessions, and sessions that encourage the participation of attendees in active discussions.
Full-day workshop-plus-tutorial proposals will be jointly evaluated by the Workshop and Tutorial Committees. The proposal will be accepted as a combined full-day event only if both components are approved; otherwise, either component may still be considered for acceptance independently.
Proposals may be up to three pages, plus two pages of supplemental organizer information and unlimited references. Full formatting requirements and content guidelines are available in the ISIT 2027 Guidance for Workshop Proposals (PDF).
Funding
ISIT 2027 anticipates providing approximately $10K-$15K in funding for each workshop, intended to support the attendance of participants from adjacent communities who do not normally attend the ISIT. Funds will not be allocated to subsidize travel for regular ISIT attendees; allocation is subject to approval by the ISIT workshop chairs.
