The IEEE Jack Keil Wolf ISIT Student Paper Award recognizes up to three outstanding papers presented at ISIT 2027 for which a student is both the principal author and the presenter.
Eligibility
- the principal author must be a registered student at an educational institution when the paper is submitted;
- the student must be the principal contributor to the work;
- the student principal author must present the paper in person at ISIT 2027; and
- the paper must be accepted for presentation and included in the ISIT 2027 technical program.
The student status and eligibility requirements must be satisfied when the paper is submitted. Subsequent graduation does not affect the paper's eligibility, provided that the student met the requirements when the paper was submitted.
How to Apply
Papers to be considered for the award must contain the following sentence in the abstract of the initial manuscript submitted for review; requests for award consideration made after the paper submission deadline cannot be accommodated: "THIS PAPER IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE STUDENT PAPER AWARD."
The statement must be removed from the final camera-ready manuscript.
By including this sentence, the authors confirm that the student identified as the principal author satisfies the eligibility requirements and intends to present the paper in person at ISIT 2027.
Selection Process
Up to six finalists will be notified before the conference and must present their papers in person at ISIT 2027 to remain eligible for the award. The Award Committee will select up to three winning papers. The winners will be announced during the ISIT 2027 banquet. The final selection will take into account both:
- the scientific content of the paper, including its originality, technical quality, significance, and clarity; and
- the quality of the student author's presentation at the conference.
Award
The award consists of a $500 honorarium to be divided equally between all student authors of the paper, and a plaque for each student author. Questions concerning eligibility should be submitted to the ISIT 2027 Technical Program Co-Chairs [email protected] before the paper submission deadline.
